Agreement to our legal terms

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and KARES. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the Services after revised Terms are posted means you accept the changes. The Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old.

Our services and medical disclaimer

KARES provides information, community, and advocacy for individuals and families affected by KDM5C genetic variants. Content on the Services is for general educational purposes only.

Nothing on the Services is medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about any medical condition or genetic result.

Intellectual property rights

Unless otherwise stated, we own or license the website design, text, photographs, graphics, logos, and other content. Family photos and stories are shared with permission and may not be reused.

You may view and print portions of the content for personal, non-commercial use. Questions about permitted use may be sent to info@kares.foundation.

Donations

Donations are processed by third-party payment providers such as PayPal and are subject to their terms. Donations are generally non-refundable; if you believe a gift was made in error, contact us within 30 days.

We will provide acknowledgment of your gift for your records. Please consult your tax adviser regarding deductibility.

• Scrape, harvest, or compile data from the Services without written permission.

Any court proceeding must be brought in the state or federal courts serving Woodford County, Illinois.

Limitations of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KARES AND ITS DIRECTORS, VOLUNTEERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KARES and its directors, volunteers, and agents from third-party claims arising from your misuse of the Services or breach of these Terms.
